• Computers and AI are an unprecedented advancement in human technology and have made possible a large variety of advanced superhuman capabilities. It seems reasonable that maintaining access to these beyond death would be a valuable endeavor.
  • Computers are useful to humans insofar as they are able to understand and interface with them, which relies on the human organism. But beyond death, consciousness need not manifest with the human form, and thus the psychological structures of perception and reasoning might not be compatible with current interfaces. Furthermore, these interfaces rely on a physical substrate that beings in other dimensions may not have access to.
  • Thus, the Hermes interface provides a bridge for non-human consciousness to interact and make use of human computer and AI technology.

Transmortal Personal Computing

Computers are only useful to the mind insofar as there is a human body operate it. But as it is likely that this link will be irreversibly modified after its death, we need a new kind of computer that is in access of the mind after death, in whatever kind of body it may occupy thereafter.

These interfaces extend the computing aims of XO beyond ordinary human embodiment. They could support Nekyia’s investigations and the preservation aims of Atlas.
