    • The perception of actual light
    • Is this an elementary component of vision, or rather a mental perception?
    • What about other factors of visual perception, such as depth? Is that also mental?

Feeling

  • It seems that a given “locus” of color can be evaluated in three ways.

    • Pleasant, unpleasant, and neutral.
  • It can be modeled as a pixel grid with weights to model attention.

  • In that case, a given locus may be evaluated differently depending on the distribution of weights.

  • Attention may occur in the peripheries and therefore the center need not be at the point of visual focus

  • A red screen may be evaluated differently depending on context and sequence.

    • Say one would deliberately make their screen red to evaluate their display’s capabilities. In this case they would feel pleasure.
    • In another case, their screen would unexpectedly and suddenly turn red, as if something went wrong. In that case they would feel displeasure.
  • Other sensations can affect how a sight is evaluated

  • Does perception and feeling occur simultaneously?

Sight is one of the channels discussed under feeling. Compare these observations with pleasant experiences and the eighteen mental preoccupations.
